This 1948 Chevy pickup bed was was totally re-done in walnut, with stainless steel strips. The running boards, the floor in the cab, the steering wheel and the inside trim was also done in walnut.
This was a fun project. Cutting tapered columns turned out to be easier than we expected. The first one was burr oak, and it was heavy! For the second one we used western read cedar; much easier to handle.
Nice 20' long, 9' wide cedar walkway. Columns are offset for more visual interest (and more work with all the compound angles). The shingles are cedar also.
